Relief prints, hand-made journals & paper note cards
Carol Brown’s latest relief prints
are about her experiences growing up on a farm, when every year in the spring, she helped her Mother plant a garden. The ”Seed Packet” prints are part of this series. Carol begins the process by carving away the negative, and printing the positive line image on the “matrix” with oil base black ink. After the ink dries, she watercolors each print by hand. Her editions are small and each print is an original. She also creates relief prints using the process of moku-hanga, Japanese Woodblock Printing.
Demonstrations at 11 am, Saturday, July 29 and Saturday, August 5.
