Instructor: Penny Shrawder
This watercolor class, designed for all levels, begins Thursday, January 17, 2008. I will teach the fundamentals of watercolor properties and how to use them to your advantage. I will also demonstrate various watercolor techniques such as pouring and glazing and a myriad other watercolor methods. Take your own drawings, draw in class, or I will have a variety of line drawings ready to transfer to your watercolor paper.
This is a drop-in class. The fee is $15 per class. Materials are available in class for $10, please let me know ahead of time, or you can purchase them at Lake Tahoe Community College Bookstore. For the techniques that I will be teaching, I highly recommend using quality watercolor paper, such as Arches 140# or 300# cold press, as these techniques do not do well on student grade paper. LTCC sells Arches paper by the sheet. I will have paper in class for sale as well.
A prepaid class card is $50 for 4 sessions. To sign up ahead, or if you have any questions, please email me at pennyart@earthlink.net, or call 530-573-8964.
Never have so many done so much for the sake of art in this community! It’s fantastic that so many members came together and devoted their time and energy to this project that lifts the awareness and enjoyment of art and encourages its development and sales in the community. The Art Center represents one more piece in the ongoing effort to build South Lake Tahoe into an art destination for tourists and fellow artists alike. —Shelby Kolstad, President
