At the May, 2010 Tahoe Art League meeting we made a brief presentation introducing a plan to convert the current 25 unit Tahoe Pines Lodge into artists’ work studios each with separate bathrooms and work sinks. We have been talking to Robert Schimmel for a few months about this and he suggested getting a survey of needs from artists who may find this attractive for their respective work requirements. The goal is to provide space as affordable as possible and yet meet operating costs. Long-term, if grant funding and charitable gifts becomes available, property ownership by TAL might become a reality.
