ART EXPO!

ArtExpo Poster2010 - The Horizon Resort Casino in South Lake Tahoe will host our major fine art event, ART EXPO 2010, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1-2,  noon to 9pm daily.  This premiere art event in the Sequoia Ballroom showcases Tahoe Art League members at their best.  Free to the public, the event features hundreds of pieces of art, photography, pottery, woodwork, sculpture, and jewelry.
ART EXPO is one of the biggest art events of the year in Tahoe and showcases over 30 professinal, Tahoe and regional artists.  This event is your chance to mingle with the artists and discover what inspires them while finding that unique and valuable image that will enhance your life for years to come!

Please click on ArtExpo 2010 App to find and download our artists’ application which is due by August 1, 2010, to be included in the promotional materials.  Later applications are accepted as appropriate and space allows.  And to get a look at the floor plan of this beautiful Sequoia Ballroom, please click on Expo FloorPlan.

      Tickets for the following valuable artworks – $4 each or 3 for $10 – are available at the TAL Art Center, 3062 Lake Tahoe Boulevard, the Showcase Gallery at Ski Run Complex near the Red Hut, and during the days & evenings of the Expo event……… don’t miss out!!!

Dr. Dave Russo has donated a giclee of his original oil painting “Emerald Bay Sunset”, valued at $800, to benefit the work of the Tahoe Art League.  Dr. Russo is an internationally acclaimed master painter who studied with Picasso during his teens.  He now teaches at the Lake Tahoe Community College and also invites local and visiting artists to paint Plein Air on Sundays with him every summer. This unique portrait of Emerald Bay presents a realistic view in an expressionistic style, characteristic of Russo’s landscapes. Dr. Phil Stevenson’s landscape photographpy has earned several awards and often depicts familiar and well-loved Tahoe scenes.  His photograph titled “Marsh Reflections” captures the late evening alpine glow of Freel Peak reflected in the Upper Truckee Marsh.  He is fascinated by Tahoe’s lenticular skys, mountain wildflowers, and patterns in the winter snow and ice.  Dr. Stevenson’s photographs of electric trains and trolley’s are frequently published in international rail fan magazines.            donation image
